We may not like this woman, but we need to look at this woman,” Taylor says. ![]() So Mary Harron did all this research, and that was really cool, from a feminist perspective and from a historical perspective. “Solanas was only in two books, no one could handle her. Only occasionally has a starring role good enough to deserve her come along, such as her extraordinary turn as Valerie Solanas in 1996’s I Shot Andy Warhol, a biopic of the woman who wrote the infamous SCUM (Society for Cutting Up Men) manifesto and very nearly killed Warhol in 1968. In Six Feet Under she darkened the mood yet further when she turned up in the second series as the fretful and furtive Lisa. In 1989’s Say Anything, she took what could have been a thankless side role – John Cusack’s platonic best friend – and made it the joyful moral centre of the film. (The few other actors who manage that, since you ask, are Parker Posey, Alfre Woodard, Kathryn Hahn and Chris Cooper.) She would always rather take an interesting minor role over a bland major one, and she then plays it with such punch and personality that she nearly steals the show. ©2022 Clayton Howe’s Entertainmentx PodcastL ili Taylor is one of those rare actors who makes whatever project she is in feel classier, no matter how small her part. ![]() Each level players are given ten points to spend upgrading their skills - each skill also offers passive bonuses when upgrading past certain thresholds - and every few levels they are also able to select an additional passive perk. These attributes and skills have significant impact on the gameplay, be it through the simple numbers of combat, unlocking conversation options, picking locks, hacking computers, and more. The Outer Worlds gives players a good amount of freedom with their character builds they are able to assign points into some base attributes and different types of skills. ![]() Getting the best results requires some work as well as building up the necessary skills to be able to make those options available, but it is satisfying to achieve. As one might expect from Obsidian Entertainment’s past work, choices are a large part of the game, but usually amount to whether players want to do what’s best for everyone or to be a selfish jerk. They happily leap into pulp adventure territory, offering unified locations and themes that are considerably more memorable than those in the main campaign. Meanwhile, the Peril on Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos DLC add their own locations, characters, and narrative, and are easily the most engaging parts of the release. The line-to-line writing is generally strong, with plenty of fun correspondence to read through on terminals, but the game overall lacks both proper cohesion and any noteworthy antagonists. Each is very likeable in their own way - anyone hurting Parvati deserves whatever comes to them - and have their own interesting stories and development while also providing highly enjoyable commentary on many of the game’s events. The optional companions are easily the best part of the base game. While the base game’s setting and its overall story are entirely forgettable, The Outer Worlds has some strong narrative points. Some parts play up the otherwordly frontier, but it’s all the same corporate hellhole. ![]() One could argue that this is the point and the underlying state of the colony is simply that this is not a fun place to be but that mood carries over to the audience. Unfortunately, much of the subsequent content doesn’t do anything to build upon or really examine the premise, with many locations lacking in any distinguishable character and being immediately forgotten. The opening stages introduce players to the disparate dystopian state of society as the people are judged solely on their contributions to their company’s bottom-line. Here players gain access to their own ship - the encouraging-named Unreliable - and pick up their first companions, while potentially also helping out the populace of the town of Edgewater. This quest soon takes a bit of a back-seat as players first need to find a way to get off the planet Terra 2, where they end up after Phineas jettisons them off the Hope in an escape pod. Players are suddenly woken up a few generations later by scientist Phineas Welles, who implores them to help him save the remaining passengers of the Hope and the colony itself, which is falling on hard times thanks to the incompetence and greed of the corporations’ leaders. However, while another colony ship arrived successfully and established humanity’s presence, the Hope mysteriously vanished with its passengers still frozen. Players control a colonist in cryostatis on the spaceship Hope, which took the journey to the Halcyon system. ![]() The Outer Worlds is set an alternate future with a timeline that diverged in 1901, with the result being a hyper-corporate society that has begun its colonisation of space. Previous players won’t find anything new from this release, while newcomers will encounter a largely enjoyable title that never hits its true potential. With a sequel under development, the companies have given players another opportunity to head into the Halcyon system with the lightly remastered The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition, bringing dedicated versions to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S bundled with its two DLC expansions. Private Division and Obsidian Entertainment originally released The Outer Worlds back in 2019, offering a sci-fi take on the modern Fallout formula. ![]() Once saved, a file can be played over and over without downloading it again, and it can also be transferred to an mp3 player or burned to a CD to share with others. Jonathan Waters nearly purchased two Atlanta-area dealerships through PLMA in early 2019. Even though that transaction did not come to fruition, Jonathan's positive experience with the PLMA team motivated him to stay in the pipeline for another powersports dealership opportunity. Once the introduction was made with Larry Brooks in late 2019, the buy-sell transaction was on a rock-solid path to closing with PLMA's guidance. Jerry Szopinski, PLMA's President of Sales, commented, "It often takes more time to find a buyer for the larger multi-line dealerships, and our portfolio of over 30 correlated dealership listings provides the necessary pipeline to make those deals happen." PLMA worked diligently for nearly two years to find the right candidate for the purchase. Jonathan purchased the 51,500 square foot flagship Honda, Yamaha, Polaris, BRP-Can-am-SeaDoo-Spyder, Kawasaki, and Suzuki dealership from industry veteran Larry Brooks. Larry still owns and operates Commonwealth Powersports, a Honda, Yamaha, Polaris-Slingshot, Kawasaki and Suzuki dealership in the Richmond, Virginia area.Īfter 33 years in the industry and operating two large dealerships 300 miles apart for more than a decade, Larry's professional schedule had him spending much of his time in Virginia and had expanded into additional business interests outside of powersports. This logistical challenge eventually compelled Larry Brooks to sell his Myrtle Beach operation. Industry references recommended that he hire Powersports Listings M&A (PLMA) to manage his sale and Larry followed that recommendation. His adult working experience includes Quality Control Management at Briggs and Stratton Finance Management, Sales Management and General Management roles across retail dealership brands including Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Polaris, Suzuki, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge Ram, and most recently Toyota. His entrepreneurial knack for fix and flip graduated into residential real estate outside of normal business hours. This is evidenced by his creation of his own motor vehicle fix and flip operation at 16 years of age. Redline Powersports of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is now under new ownership. We first released cineSync officially in late 2005, but its genesis came a year earlier. What is the genesis of cineSync? When was it introduced? I think having a great love for post production in general really helps us to develop the best tools - without the technology getting in the way. It’s about simplicity, reliability and effectiveness. I have a good understanding of what people need from software in this industry and it’s not all about features. As a result, when I came to Cospective, it was very much from a post production workflow background - not from a software background - so my focus has always been on usability and practical application. I spent close to 10 years working in audio on feature films, as a mix engineer and sound editor as well as a facility manager, so I was also surrounded by picture editors, VFX artists, producers and directors. How does that help you steer the company? You have a background as an audio post pro. I reached out to CEO Rory McGregor to find out more about their company, the thought process behind the development of their tools, and the industry in general.
